Our family history starts in South Africa. My paternal Grandfather came to South Africa to fight for the British in the Anglo Boer War, my maternal grandmother's parents came to South Africa to work in Pilgrims Rest during the gold rush.  My father was a spitfire pilot in the 2nd World War and my mother was a secretary to Dr Raymond Dart who discovered Mrs Plez, the missing link.

Our family lived in Johannesburg, I was born in 1950, my sister Robyn was born in 1952 and my brother Patrick in 1954
